Foundations are formed and laid – That are passed down from generation to generation
Future families are taught with wisdom and knowledge – How all of this affected their creation
Grandchildren are the soil of life – And parents are the water in this wonderful metaphor
Grandparents are the sun’s rays – Providing love, warmth and much, much more
Parents set the first foundations – But without a family history this cannot be
Grandparents are those strong foundations – Stated like this, it’s easy to see
So each of us should honor – Our grandparents, if we still can
Or carry on the tradition with our children – Explaining that grandparents are where it began
